About Me

Hello! My name is Kylie Ta. I have already received my Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies. I have taken the time after earning my Bachelors to be a substitute teacher for the past few school years. As a result, I found that my calling--more specifically in education--is with special education. I am now working towards obtaining my Masters in Special Education.

It was said in the course text, "Education is a noble profession where relationships, passion, and innovation play essential roles in shaping the future." My motivation to become an educator stems from a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of future generations. It was when I was young that I found that I have a passion for teaching others and love seeing someone grow in knowledge. I remember teaching students younger than me how to play volleyball, starting from the basics. Being able to watch them master the basic foundational knowledge to mastering more advanced skills filled me with great pride and joy. I find it fulfilling to be able to in contribute to the growth and success of students as they develop the skills necessary to thrive. I often times reflect on my journey through the years and can pick a handful of teachers that inspired me to want to be like them because they truly helped me find joy in learning.

As a future special educator, my goal is to support students with diverse learning needs by fostering their academic, social, and emotional development—both in and beyond the classroom. As mentioned in the course materials, "Pierson also spoke about how strong connections with students can impact students for a lifetime. She urged educators to be champions for their students, creating an environment where every child feels supported and empowered to succeed." I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued, empowered, and capable of reaching their full potential. Just as my journey with substitute teaching, my time spent earning my Masters degree at WGU will help me become a special educations teacher.
